Can’t take the heat anymore? Don on an Air-conditioned Jacket!

With all those series of heatwave, the most embarrassing thing that could happen to you is to walk with pit sweat on your red shirt. So to avoid such uncomfortable and embarrassing situations, you are left with limited choice of clothing (black is safest). But of course, a pit sweat is not just your concern. There is always the dehydration and non-stop sweating.

A company in Japan named Kuchofuku Co. Ltd understands it all so a man named Hiroshi Ichigaya invented a jacket called Kuchofuku (quite a mouthful) with a built-in fan because his countrymen are having troubles dealing with hot weather in scarce power source, which is mainly attributed to the recent natural disaster.

Japan’s Saving Grace against Heat

The Kuchofuku Jacket has been selling like pancakes in Northern Japan because the government’s power consumption has been cut down to 15%.  A lot of companies have been using the Kuchofuku Jacket to cope with the stress and the heat.

You might think that wearing a jacket in a hot weather is like baking yourself inside the oven but the inflated jacket is appropriately designed for hot weather. Others may laugh at you but as long as you are “cool,” who cares if you look uncool right?

Kuchofuku is a jacket that has a lithium-ion battery pack that can give you an 11-hour run on one charge. It has two electric fans located at the lower left and lower right back of the waist of the jacket. The fans blow in wind that brings down temperature and dries sweat. The blown wind then escapes through the collar and the cuff part of the jacket. The control box where you can adjust the speed of the fan is situated at the left hand corner of the jacket for easier access.

The standard Kuchofoku jacket is selling price for $140 or 11,000 yen.

This jacket is great for those corporate employees who can’t dress down and need to go on commute. This jacket ensures that you arrive your office looking cool and fresh even if the rest of the commuters are looking at you like you’ve lost your mind. If they have what you have, they’d be wearing the jacket in no time.

You’ve got to hand it to the Japanese to think of something crazy useful. Although the jacket is not as stylish as your Adidas jacket, in hot weather conditions like we have these days, who cares about looking cool when you are already cool enough inside?
